CONSULTANTS - OPHTHALMOLOGY
 

Miss. Jane Leitch FRCS(Glas) FRCOphth

Miss. Jane Leitch is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals Trust. She is also an Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and covers the paediatric ophthalmology work for the Tadworth Children's Trust and the Royal Marsden Hospital.

Her specialist interest area is paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility, continuing an active adult cataract practice and the use of botulinum toxin for the conditions of squint, blepharospasm and cosmesis.

Miss. Leitch was appointed to the Epsom and St. Helier NHS Trust in 1996 and has subsequently held the role of Lead Clinician, College Tutor and Audit Lead.

Miss. Leitch qualified from Westminster Hospital Medical School and trained in ophthalmology at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, North Yorkshire Senior Registrar Specialist Training rotation and Moorfields Eye Hospital, with Fellowships in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Miss. Leitch has been instrumental in setting up the South West Thames clinical network for ophthalmology, was a founding member and the first secretary of the Association of Ophthalmologists and is a member of the Working Party on Non-Accidental Injury for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She also actively contributes to research groups in paediatric ophthalmology on the field of retinal dystrophies and ocular congenital malformations.

Miss. Leitch has previously been President of the Southern Ophthalmological Society and previous council member.

Miss. Jane Leitch is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (No. 02954015).
