Mr. Dhia Al-Musawi
Mr. Dhia Al-Musawi has been a Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust since 1991. He has a special interest in upper GI and laparoscopic surgery including: Groin hernia repair (Hernia Clinic), cholecystectomy (Gallstone clinic), Nissen's fundoplication for acid reflux disease, adhesion division, splenectomy, endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), thyroid surgery and pancreatic surgery. He has a special interest in laparoscopic gastric banding for obesity as well. He has regular outpatient clinics and endoscopy sessions at the Clock House Medical Practice, and is prepared to accept any emergency referrals. Mr Al-Musawi graduated from Baghdad University in 1979. He has many post graduate qualifications in Surgery including Diploma and Master degrees in Surgery, Board Certificate in Surgery, FRCS (England) and FRCS (General Surgery). He came to UK in 1991 for further training especially in laparoscopic surgery and undertook this training in the London North West Region Mr Al-Musawi was the top candidate in the Europe and Overseas countries in the FRCS examination and was awarded the HALLET International Prize from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
