Mr.
Daniel Mok FRCS
Mr.
Daniel Mok is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Epsom and St.
Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has a special interest
in upper limb surgery - shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery. He
trained at St Bart's Hospital in London.
At the
present time, he is a specialist examiner in orthopaedic surgery
for the Royal College of Surgeons, Great Britain & Ireland.
Previously, he has been an instructor for arthroscopic shoulder
surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons England, Royal National
Orthopaedic Hospital and the Asian Shoulder Association in Hong
Kong. Mr. Mok is an orthopaedic tutor for the Undergraduates
Medical School.
He is a
member of The British Orthopaedic Association, The British Medical
Association, The British Elbow & Shoulder Surgery, The British
Orthopaedic Sports and Trauma Association and The Associate
International Member of American Orthopaedic Society. He has
written many papers and presented to learned societies over the
years, the most recent being "arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff
of the shoulder".
He
established the first shoulder unit in Surrey, which is now
recognised by the British Elbow & Shoulder Society as one of the
top 5 in the country. He is also one of the world's leading
shoulder arthroscopists.
For
shoulder fractures, he employs the latest techniques to treat his
patients with the sole aim of early restoration of function for
them. In 2006, he was ranked as one of the best surgeons treating
complex shoulder fractures in Europe by the European Shoulder
Society and the British Orthopaedic Association. In May 2006, he
chaired the Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy Course on Arthroscopic
Stabilisation and Cuff Repair - live surgery demonstration, which
was the first of its kind at Epsom General Hospital, and was
attended by orthopaedic surgeons from the USA, Europe and the UK.
Mr. Mok
also provides expert upper limb services and has introduced many
innovative techniques in treating fractures and painful conditions
of the elbow, wrist and hand. This has included arthroscopic
surgery in these small joints utilising the latest NASA digital
technology. His results were presented to the British Hand Society
and the British Trauma Society in 2006 and were amongst the best
reported.
