Mr
Hassan Shehata MRCP(Ire.)
Mr
Shehata is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a
subspecialist in Maternal Medicine. His NHS base is at Epsom and
St. Helier University Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Senior
Lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at St George's Hospital
Medical School, University of London and a Visiting Professor at
Hamad Medical Coorporation, Qatar.
Mr
Shehata qualified in 1988 and trained as a Senior House Officer in
London, as Registrar in St George's Hospital. He was a
sub-specialist trainee in Maternal Medicine as a Senior Registrar
in St Thomas' Hospital, working in a tertiary centre with
particular expertise in the field of maternal medicine and the
World renowned lupus clinic. He achieved membership of both Royal
Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Physicians of
Ireland.
His
clinical interests include general pregnancy care and gynaecology;
the investigation and treatment of recurrent miscarriage using the
latest advances in reproductive immunology. His miscarriage clinic
(www.miscarriageclinic.co.uk) attracts clients from all around the
World. Other specialities include pre-conception counselling for
women with other diseases or physiological problems. This care
extends to those women who are already pregnant but have come
either with medical complications, who are on medication, or else
have been inadvertently exposed to vaccination or radiation.
Mr
Shehata's research interests include recurrent miscarriages,
thrombosis, renal disease and obstetric cholestasis. He is widely
published in prestigious international medical journals.
Mr
Shehata is a member of several national and international
organizations including the British Maternal Fetal Medicine
Society and the MacDonald Club. He is also a GDG member of the
National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
Mr
Shehata is on the Specialist Register with the General Medical
Council (No. 4346007).
